2016 Chevrolet Malibu Classic - Transmission problem

transmission wont work in any gear,

What year is it again, they only made the Malibu Classic as a fleet vehicle for 2004 & 2005, in 2016 it was just a Malibu and Malibu Limited…

Anyway, check the transmission fluid level and if it has a burnt smell to it and or a dark color…
Make sure the axles are not broken…
How may miles are on it??
IS it making any kind of noise when in gear??

Was the vehicle driving normal and just stop working while driving or what happened??
Did you have a check engine light on before it happened?? Did you check the codes??

If you are unable to answer any of these questions then basically you need to have it towed to a transmission shop…

Firstly, check the transmission fluid level and condition. If it’s low or dirty, that could be causing problems. Sometimes, a simple fluid change or top-up can make a big difference. Also, listen for any strange noises when the vehicle is in gear—grinding or whining noises can indicate more serious issues.

Another thing to consider is whether the transmission is slipping or having trouble shifting gears. This might point to problems with the transmission control module or issues with the transmission itself.

If you’re seeing warning lights on your dashboard or if the car isn’t shifting properly, it might be a good idea to get a professional diagnosis. Transmission issues can range from minor to serious, and catching them early can save you a lot of hassle and expense.

In any case, having a qualified mechanic take a look is the best way to get to the bottom of the problem. They can run diagnostics and help determine whether it’s something simple or if you’re looking at a more involved repair.
