I have a GMC Denali with the magnetic ride electric shocks and was told by the dealer one was leaking on the rear and the other should be watched for any leaks. I purchased the vehicle at only 2 years old and I suspect it was leaking then. What would cause a leak so soon?
The fluid inside those shocks is very, very abrasive. The seals used are the best available. A scratch on the chrome piston rod or a nick in the seal from a bit of dirt can cause a leak. The good thing is, you don’t have to replace them in pairs. The bad thing is they are expensive.
