I change out batteries at the 3-4 year mark, having had batteries fail at 3 years.
it depends on where you live. I live in Pennsylvania and usually get at least 4-5 years out of a battery
Many people drive until the battery dies, but that can happen at a time or place that’s inconvenient. I prefer to replace my battery proactively at around four or five years, especially because I keep my cars for eight to ten years, so normally I replace it once and I’m done.

My battery was still keeping a charge after 9 years. I replaced it just to be safe.
Go to a car parts store, have them check your battery and alternator (should be free), tell us what you find out.
Among the 3 cars I’ve maintained, 6 years has been typical battery life.
The original battery in my 99 RAV4 lasted 9 years though.
