I recently purchased a 2015 Buick Verano. The red paint is chipping down to the metal along the edge of the driver’s side door. I’m the only driver and have never hit anything, in fact am always careful when opening and closing the door. I don’t see any primer under the paint, just metal. What would cause this to happen? My other Buick was 21 years old and not one scratch or chip anywhere.
You don’t know its history. May have been knocked up by a less careful owner and touched up by the seller. Now it is coming off far easier than factory. Buy the proper color auto touchup paint and touchup primer so you can pretty it up and prevent rusting.
