Tremendous road noise and universal/rear end system sounds at times like it is grinding against metal and vibrates?
Does not sound good at all. Better get it in before more damage is done.

Bearings somewhere in the driveline likely going bad. If they fail, even WORSE things may happen - wheels fall off, drive axle locks up solid. You will have a bad day when you see the bill for this repair - 'cause it is a Maserati - but your day would be worse if a wheel falls off while on the highway.
