Dealer says i need new transmission. Independent said heating senor issue. Independent said go back to dealer. Don’t know what to do.

what actual problem you have?

You might want to try another mechanic, just state the symptoms you are having. Not what the others have said.

Hmmm… perhaps you should consult a mechanic who is located north of the border.

In all seriousness, however, if you think that you have a transmission issue, then you should take the car to an independent transmission specialist, not to a generalized mechanic. Just be sure that you don’t take your vehicle to a chain/franchise joint such as Lee Myles, Cottman, Mr. Transmission, or–God forbid–AAMCO.

Ask friends, neighbors, relatives and co-workers for the names of well-reputed INDEPENDENT transmission shops. If it turns out that you do need a trans overhaul or replacement, that indy shop can undoubtedly undercut the dealer’s price by a substantial amount.

Seems like a dumb reply, why didn’t the independent offer to fix it?
