2013 Kia Optima - Sticky fuel gauge

I have a 2013 kia optima and the fuel gauge gets stuck on empty even when I have a full tank of gas. After a while it shoes normal fuel display and again goes bad to empty display. Dealer could not diagnose the issue wanted 350 dollars to do it by taking the gas tank off and checking the fuel filter. They ere not even sure that would be the problem but I was going to pay the 350 regardless. Getting frustrated with Kia cars. Never ending recalls is another issue ith these cars. Anyone can help?

Unfortunately it’s a fairly common problem for Kias. The usual suspect is a bad sending unit. The gauge itself could also be bad or there might be a wiring (i.e., ground) problem. Unless it’s still under some kind of warranty get a second opinion from a good independent shop.
