Engine light came on today. My fuel door was open and I needed gas. Everything else seems fine. Any ideas

1st get gas… lol
Have the codes scanned by an auto parts store (free) and post the codes here, you can take pictures of the screen if not able to print out…
As far as the Fuel door being open, did you make sure the gas cap was on correctly?? Is the vehicle kept indoors or out in the open??
If you start the vehicle and it starts running really bad, shut off and have towed to a repair shop, someone could have put sugar etc in the tank.. Tick anyone off lately??
The Check engine light will turn on if the gas cap is left off or isn’t tightened because the computer thinks there’s an EVAP leak.
Once the gas cap is installed and tightened the Check Engine light will shut off by itself after driving the car a while..

It turned out to be that the transmission censor needs to be replaced. Also time to change the trannie fluid.
