2013 Hyundai Elantra: timing belt or chain?

Does my 2013 Hyundai Elantra have a timing chain or timing belt

Go to the Gates Belts website and look up your vehicle. If they offer a belt… then your car uses a timing belt.

The 2013 elantra’s 1.8 4 banger engine uses a timing chain from what I’m seeing.

Thank you very much

Another way to tell if one’s vehicle has a timing belt is to simply open the glove compartment, take out the mfr’s maintenance schedule (frequently contained in the Owner’s Manual), and peruse that maintenance schedule.
If there is no listing for timing belt replacement (it could also be called a “cam belt”) at 60k, or 90k, or 120k, then the engine does not utilize a timing belt.
