2012 BMW X5 - Start button issues

Start button doesn’t start the car sometimes.
Requires to press the brake very hard

On a ten year old car, not known for reliability, known for high maintenance & repair costs, imagine that.

There’s a known issue with them, from memory it’s a brake servo fault. Take it to a dealership as it may still be covered under the recall.

When this happens, have someone check if your brake lights are on or off. If they’re off, then you probably need to adjust or replace the switch that I assume is at the top of the brake pedal.
