I purchased car in 2023 with 142000 miles on it and the transmission starts jerking when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear.
No check engine light.
This problem is intermittent and comes back and goes away.
Check your transmission fluid level… If low, correct the level with the correct Toyota ATF fluid…
If you are unsure how to properly check your ATF level, then please feel free to ask…
If ATF level is full, well it needs to go to a transmission shop to be properly checked out and possible rebuild…
You can do a pan drop and replace the filter and fluid to see if that helps and check the pan for debris etc…

This should be a good local transmission shop, not a chain operation.

Excellent advice above. This could be a torque converter lockup problem. Google “torque converter shudder”. Does it feel like that?
