Are the driver’s and passengers seats interchangeable? My driver’s seat is starting to compress (I am not a small man) after140,000 KM. I found “newn” replacement seats on Ebay but $300 CAD seem pretty expensive. Thoughts???
No they are not interchangeable. A auto upholstery shop can repair your seat .
That is cheap, a replacement cloth seat cushion assembly is $360 plus labor, $600 for leather. Seat back assembly is $700, to replace both would be more than $1,000.
Reupholstery of the old seat would run you roughly $500 to $1000 CAD so that $300 is looking really good!
That 300.00 used seat is also going to have a shipping charge that could be as high as 150.00 .
I think it makes more sense to have the seat repaired rather than buy one that might be just as bad .
There is a slight possibility that if you removed both seats and disassembled both seats you might be able to swap the bottom seat cushion side to side, but if I am seeing the pictures of seats for your vehicle right, the back rest has an airbag in it as well as the seat belt latch is incorporated to the seat bracket and might effect the cushion… With the air bag, seat belt attachment point, difference in the floor pan it’s self, the tilt back lever, not to mention if it has any kind of power controls or not, the odds of swapping any part of the seat is not in your favor…
No.
But you can swap the front seat with a front seat from another Soul.

When I had this issue several years ago, I was able buy a new bottom cushion (only the foam rubber part). Was a little over $100, IIRC. But this was for a Dodge Ram , a much more common vehicle so it might not be a viable option for you. In another vehicle with this problem, I put a piece of generic foam rubber about 1 1/2" thick, on top of the original.
