2011 Honda CR-V - Brake issue

Went to break and pedal went to floor but no breaks couldn’t stop

OK, but what are you going to do about your brakes ?

I blew a rusted brake line. Pedal didn’t go to floor but pretty close. Puddle under car was a good clue.

Stop driving this car. Unsafe to drive at this point. & Have it towed to your shop, check the brake fluid level.

Seconding George’s comments. Could be something pretty simple, or you may need some significant repairs. Either way, unsafe to operate a car that has brakes going to the floor.

I 3rd(?) George’s comment, do not drive the vehicle…

Sudden brake failure can be lots of things, master cylinder bypassing, blown piston seal (caliper/wheel cylinder), brake hose or line blew etc etc…

Brakes are funny this way, if they don’t stop you, something else will, so do not drive until repaired, it could save your life and or other innocent lives… And NO, unsafe brakes are not funny!!!..

Yup, leaky brake line, no fluid, bad master cylinder, or other component. A shop will tell what for sure. Get check book ready.

That is just about the age torust out the brake line in the rust belt. In any case, if you knew how to fix brakes’you would not be writing an online forum. Get your car towed to a local mechanics shop, not a national chain, tire shop oroil change place/ They will inspect the car and tell you what it neeeds.

Do not go some place who advertizes low prices on a brake job. That will only include pads and it is never just pads.
