Just recently, almost every morning around 11 am - 1 pm my Ford Explorer factory alarm/horn goes off. No one is around, no wind or any other outside influences.
Anyone have the same issue with Explorer?

Welcome to the forum…
Have you moved the vehicle to a different spot or location to see if it still does it???
No. I don’t own an Explorer, but I do own a Ford truck. And its horn has always behaved.
My guess is that the horn switch is activating by itself, likely due to the higher ambient temperatures at noon are causing something to expand and press on the switch or its wiring. When this happens, what do you do to make it stop beeping?
George, it’s the panic alarm. Mine may go off if the fob bumps something else in my pocket.
Is that the same as the security alarm? It beeps if it thinks someone is breaking into the car? Is there a method the OP can determine if its the security alarm vs the normal horn function? Is the beep different?
No, it’s the red button on the FOB. Also handy for finding your car when you forget where it is parked.
The security module should show a record of the area of last intrusion: hood, door, liftgate. A diagnostic test should be able to find the malfunctioning door switch.
Does the door ajar warning light illuminate while driving?
As you might expect, I’m still confused. Is the sound the OP is hearing from the panic-button system or the security system? Or are they the same thing?
I don’t believe the vehicle owner would be able to distinguish the difference between the activation of the two features. The alarm history in the module should show which was activated.
To make it stop, I hit the fob lock/unlock buttons.
I will try that next (move to another spot).
Thanks!
Since that makes it stop, my theory proposed above about a faulty horn button seems less likely. @Nevada_545 suggestion seems a good way to start the diagnosis. Frustrating, hope you find the cause without too much grief.
Works great for a technician looking for a customers car also…
+1 for Nevada
My son in laws Ford something did this. The door ajar light was on . Scantool had passenger door fault. I was going to investigate door switch, but he got rid of the car before I could get to it.
