I’m leaning toward the Outback, but I’m concerned that the CVT hasn’t been around long enough to be sure the car will go for 200K without transmission problems. Should I get the Forester instead? My current one has 200K on it and had been great.

I always like to wait out new technology. I have heard a few things about the CVT concerning sluggishness and it’s being too lightweight for the vehicle. This may be the greatest transmission ever built but I would stick to a known quantity. The Forester is a great vehicle but you already know that.
