My car is smoking from the front end. Not from the radiator. Not sure if it is the transfer case or transmission
Try opening the hood to find the source.
From the wheel area? the engine/transmission area? drive belt area?
Does it do this at 1st start up, or only after driving for X amount of time/miles?? Or–???
If you are unable to see where it is smoking from, the you need to have it towed to a shop for proper diagnoses and or repair…
Sorry you are having this problem…
Smoke from coolant dripping? Or oil? Trans is about 4th thing I’d blame.
Does this engine-compartment smoking begin immediately after starting a cold engine? If not, when?
Start with the basics…
- When does this occur?
- What color is the “smoke”?
- What smell is the “smoke”?
- Are their any signs of fluid dripping in the engine compartment or on the road?
“Smoking from the front” is like “I’ve got a cough”, it could be almost anything but without more info any suggestion is just a stab in the dark.
That’s why you need a qualified mechanic.
Been five days. Another one and done.
