Replace transmission

My crystal ball says… If it makes you happy, then go for it.

I think there are shops for that.

18 hours of labor to remove the sub frame and replace the transmission, bring $8,000.

Enjoy your new transmission.

At 8 grand on a 2010, more like enjoy your new car.

$8000 does not elevate someone to a new vehicle, a new RX is $ 50,000 to $ 60,000.

And the rest of the vehicle still has an unknown amount of miles and based on the trans failure may have been not maintained all that great.

New to him. I agree a car at anything remotely close to $8000 is used.

Did you say recently that in the shop where you work it is pretty common for customers to be presented w/invoice in the $10K range? If $8k brings the otherwise-good vehicle back to life, replacing the transmission seems like a no brainer.

18 hrs to r&r a trans? Whoa.
Used is $1800-2500.
I’m thinking $3k total.
