I am having an issue with my Hyundai Sonata 2010 gls v4 engine about 100k miles on it. There is a rumbling sound coming from the general engine block area that happens only when I have a cold engine. It disappears and doesn’t come back on after about 5 minutes of driving. It also seems to be loosely related with the rpm or gas pedal where while its warming up I can hear it more when I am starting to accelerate. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Can’t help you with your noise but I can tell you that your car does not have a V4 engine, it is an L4.
If you are the original owner , you might want to go and get a complaint on record if you have not gone over 100,000 miles.
Hard to say but lacking any other details I’d get someone to put it on a lift overnight and look and listen to it from underneath. You said rumble but if it’s more like a rattle then I’d guess it might be loose heat shields? Possibly once they heat up they expand enough to not rattle anymore.
