Maintenance seems to be current - what major repairs can I expect to have pop up between now and 200,000 miles? Showing what was done below - it seems like my Son can get a lot of use and safety out of this but wondering if I am missing something ‘big’ that is normal to wear out/require replacement. First time buying a car on my own so any guidance from someone more experienced would be helpful.

They just did the following this month so that looked good.

  • Vehicle serviced
  • Brake light bulb(s) replaced
  • Oil and filter changed
  • Four tires balanced
  • Four tires mounted
  • Four wheel alignment performed
  • Air filter replaced
  • Cabin air filter replaced/cleaned
  • Wiper(s) replaced
  • A/C refrigerant recharged
  • Anti-theft/keyless device/alarm installed

Back in 10/2017 the following was done:

  • Vehicle serviced
  • Maintenance inspection completed
  • Throttle body cleaned/serviced
  • Tire(s) balanced
  • Tires rotated
  • Steering/suspension checked
  • Alignment checked
  • Transmission serviced
  • Body electrical system checked
  • Oil and filter changed
  • Windshield washer checked
  • Safety inspection performed
  • Alignment performed
  • Antifreeze/coolant flushed/changed

June 2016 following

  • Vehicle serviced
  • Spark plug(s) replaced
  • Left airbag assembly replaced
  • Antifreeze/coolant flushed/changed
  • Antifreeze/coolant checked
  • Brake fluid flushed/changed
  • Rear brake pads replaced
  • Brake rotor(s) resurfaced
  • Front brakes replaced
  • Power steering checked
  • Emissions inspection performed
  • Emissions or safety inspection performed

Reads good and shouldn’t need anything but oil changes in the next 23,000 miles but…

I can’t see, hear, smell or drive it from here. Pay your mechanic inspect the car before you buy it. Best $100 or so you will ever spend.

After market device would be the only red flag that I see as it could cause problem’s later down the road.

If you buy it after the pre-purchase inspection, get a 4 wheel alignment done immediately. It looks like the current owner bought new tires, but did not get an alignment done. Other possibilities are new suspension parts and brake calipers, and your pre-purchase inspection will suss that out.

Edit: missed the alignment. Oops! Thanks for pointing that out, @shanonia.

4 wheel alignment was just done

I’d be curious to know what maintenance was done between 10/17 and this month. That’s a fair size gap. Beyond that, let a mechanic of your choice inspect it.

That was on me, sorry I didn’t post the entire history, just added that below. Thanks!

All looks prtetty good except the ac recharge, there may be a leak somewhere that will pop up again. I would ask if they put dye in for the ac recharge, if so take it to an independant mechanic to see if a leak can be found, and also do a complete inspection to let you know about brakes tires and suspension components.

No worries. The missing chunk of maintenance history just scared me a little. Looks good.

Except for valve lash which which should be checked on a regular basis so you won’t have to face this annoying and expensive problem IF that has not been done… True of any engine with mechanical lifters.
Otherwise, the records look surprisingly good as most records are non-existent.

I agree with the comment on the AC as it is a known weak point for this gen CRV’s. But then again, with that many miles on the car, if you are getting a good deal, you might as well roll the window and enjoy the fresh air
Have the mechanic do a leak test but I think the compressor is the one that goes.
