2010 Dodge Journey Car dead issues... Battery, etc

We have a 2010 Dodge Journey… Went to leave and it was completely dead no lights nothing… We have a jumper and it started and drove the rest of the day. Next day same thing… Took battery to get tested and it was fine…any help please

And dash warning lights on? Like the generator light? No? Then something in the car is draining the battery and your mechanic needs to run a parasitic draw test to find it. Expect to pay him for the diagnostic time so he can find the part that needs replacing.

If you have an aftermarket stereo, remote car starter, nav system or alarm, those are very likely suspects.

first thing I would check it to make sure the battery connections are clean and tight. Could be the hooking up of the jumper cables wiggled one just enough to help it make enough contact to work.

This is where I’d start. Simple voltage test. Before first start of the day the battery voltage should measure about 12.6 volts. Immediately after starting the engine, 13.5-15.5 volts. What does your shop measure?

Anytime you have this kind of problem the first step is to clean all the battery connections using a wire brush. If that doesn’t help then you need to check the power to the panel under the hood and make sure it is good along with the main grounds.
