Stats: 2010 Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SR V6 - 6 speed Manual
Problem Defined: bought car NEW - strange electrical issues - car is now 12 years old - in early years if I would be on interstate at 70mph and downshift from 6th to 4th, air conditioning would suddenly come on at full fan speed - at 130K alternator failed and was replaced - now at only 184K alternator has failed again.

Questions: what would cause strange electrical problems? why would latest alternator only last 50K miles ?

This coupe is top-of-the-line SR model - ALL OPTIONS. Very nice car. Love it. Fun to drive. Take EXCELLENT care of car. Latest - only use AMSOIL 5W30 Signature - etc. - get the picture? I take EXCELLENT care of car and it looks like new.

After latest alternator replace, I get fewer strange electrical weirdness as I experienced in early years. But why would latest alternator have such a short life? Latest OEM Nissan alternator should have lasted another 120-130K at minimum.

Driving style: Determined. Safe. I do not drive like grandma, but I am very safe. Excellent driver imho.

They are both OEM NISSAN

I don’t know where you live but after 12 years your cars electrical connections may have become corroded. I would remove and clean up the battery ground connection with the chassis because it can be attacked by acid fumes, as well as road salt.
