2009 Kia Rondo briefly died after getting wet

a few years ago, my dad was driving and went through a puddle, and it died. It started up a few minuets later and drove fine. I drained the oil and transmission fluid, and there was no water…not sure what makes it do that.

A wire got wet. Hard to say which one.

Could have sucked a slug of water in air filter housing snorkel tube Enough to impede air flow to stall motor but not enough to get into cylinders.

+1
And, at least the OP should be glad that it restarted–after he performed an 18th Century dance several times.
