transmission stuck in 3rd gear
I would suggest that you ask friends, neighbors, relatives, and co-workers for suggestions regarding the best independent transmission shop in your area, and then have the car towed there. Whatever you do, do NOT take it to a chain-run place such as Lee Myles, Cottman, Mr. Transmission, or–God forbid–AAMCO.
Hyundai has a 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty on the engine and transmission, I suggest taking it to the dealer.
That is true–if the OP is the original owner.
If he is the second or third owner, the Powertrain Warranty runs to only 6 years/60k miles.
Also… we have no idea about the number of miles on the odometer.
If this were me… I would simply unhook the battery for about 10 min and reconnect. See what you get.
After that I’d be looking hard at the module on the trans that the shift cable points you toward… That module is responsible for telling the trans and ecu what gear to select. Its removable.
But thats just me…
Manual trans genesis coupe? Hmm, could be a clutch issue.
