The blend door actuator is for temperature control
If anything, the mode door actuator may be at fault
however . . . if op managed to somehow drop a few pens, paper clips, etc. into the plenum, that could prevent the mode door from having full range of travel
You are correct, I should have just said one of the HVAC system actuators has failed.

I just noticed something . . . on Rockauto, at least
They refer to all of the hvac actuator motors as “blend door actuators” . . . but then in the description, it states what they individually control
I could see somebody ordering the incorrect part, if they don’t carefully read the “fine print”
I brought this up, because this isn’t the first time I’ve heard other people refer to any and/or all of the hvac actuators as “blend door actuators”
Actually it’s the mode door actuator.
