truck started started running rough, shut down, now wont start or even turn over

Presumably the check engine light came on before the truck died completely. Have it towed someplace you can have the codes read.
Sounds like a fuel supply failure. Check fuel pump. Have someone listen near the gas tank then turn the key to the on (not start) position. A small whirring should be heard for 2 to 3 seconds. If not you have a bad fuel pump or no power going to the fuel pump.
