2008 Subaru Outback runs very loud now. Is it because of age, mileage(128K), timing issue, tune-up needs, or just what is/are possibility(ies)?
A leak in exhaust system is the most likely culprit. Try using a short length of garden hose as a stethoscope to narrow down the location of the noise source.

If the problem started suddenly, then cat theft is a distinct possibility.
