Skid indication starts then service required followed by 4wd and lock flushing
What is “lock flushing”?
What does your mechanic say about the problems?

Probaly a misprint by the OP I think he meant flashing not flushing.

I am not familiar with your vehicle but on Fords if you have a vacuum leak in the 4wd system it automatically puts you into 4wd. and its bad to drive in 4wd on dry pavement. I would get this checked out ASAP.
