What brand tires are the best for the merc.?
Seriously, do you really think you have to have a certain tire for your car. Just look at the tire seller web sites and chose for yourself.
Go to tirerack.com, there you can review tires that meet what you want for your application and desire. Meaning, do you want long tread wear?, crisp handling? Wet traction? Winter traction? Soft ride? Low noise?

I agree tirerack is a credible source for info on tires. Consumer Reports also has worthy data.

People buy tires while they are shopping at Walmart - Sams club - Costco all the time so it can’t be that hard to do. Besides just asking what the best tires are without stating price range , driving conditions and what they expect the tires to do just will not get useful answers.

Michelin makes great tires. They are also pretty expensive. If you do some research, you can find a good tire at an attractive price. I use Tire Rac comparison tests to pick my tires.
… but if you’re a Costco member, you can buy them at prices that are unbeatable…
