My lift gate light is on my dash my light stays on. I only open the back window and that when the light stayed on. I want to know what do I need to do to fix this problem thanks.
The switch that triggers the light is likely broken. Replace the switch.

Sometimes spraying electronic parts cleaner into a switch and then operating by hand many times and letting it dry will clear up that problem. Worth a try - easier than replacing, which may be necessary after all.
