Everything locks up. Won’t start, unlock, steering wheel locked, won’t start with key.
First check is the battery and charging system.
Steering wheel locked, will the key turn the ignition lock cylinder???
If the key will not turn the cylinder it is possible you have the steering wheel in a bind so to speak, If the steering wheel is dead locked one way but will move just a tad the other way then pull very hard on the steering wheel in the direction it barely moves and while pulling hard then try to turn the key…
If that is not the problem then please try to give us more info, the short version is not working…
Of course make sure your battery is not dead as stated above…
This is a good point. I experienced a similar problem once when parallel parking facing downhill on a very steep San Francisco hill. The front wheel was wedged against the curb, and the car facing downhill was making the wedge effect preventing the steering wheel’s free motion even more forceful.
It happens all the time for some reason, even in the middle of a flat Walmart parking lot… People turn sharp into a parking spot and slam it in park and cut the key off/out without taking the pressure off the steering wheel, then wonder why the key will not turn… Your steering wheel will be under pressure trying to turn back a little and if you remove the key without releasing the pressure it puts pressure in the steering wheel lock and until that pressure is released (pulling on the wheel opposite way) the key will not turn… That could be worded better but that’s the gist of it… lol
