2007 Hyundai Santa Fe engine noise when started cold

Hi here, there is a noise from the engine at the start up of the car especially when you park for more than to 2 hours. but if you restart it after some minutes you don’t hear the noise again. what can be the cause?

Serpentine/drive belt problems do that sometimes. Rubber is an unusual material in that it gets smaller with higher temperatures. So when the engine is cold the belt won’t grip onto the pulleys as well as after the engine warms up, and when the engine is cold that semi-loose belt can make weird sounds, often described as squeals.

Depends on the noise. Older engines can make noise until the oil has a chance to circulate.
