I fill up the car but the gas gauge dropes to empty plus there is times it will only take a couple of gallons of gas at a time do I need a new fuel pump
Chances are that a new fuel pump would fix it, bit it could be wiring also. It isn’t detrimental to the cars functionality, so you may just want to track your miles at fill up to give you an idea when to get gas. If you really want it fixed, you can have it diagnosed and if they replace the pump, you know that the pump is new and should last the remainder of the time you own the vehicle.
If you want the issue fixed, probably . The pump assembly and fuel level sensor are all one assembly inside the fuel tank . So this will take some doing as they usually have to drop the gas tank to replace it .
I have this fuel tank issue with my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. I have a lot of work done on it, but nothing works. Does anyone have a solution to the problem?
The minivan forum at allpar.com has helped me with questions I’ve had about my 1999 and 2007 Chrysler Corp. minivans. You might try there, too. Good luck.
