2006 Volvo S60 - noise in wheel?

Hi I have a 2006 Volvo S60 with 216K miles. I hear a noise in the passenger front wheel well when I hit a bump…almost like an air compression type of noise kind of hollow. It drives fine, but does anyone have thoughts on what this is?

If someone came come up with ideas then you are a miracle worker.

Also, I just put had a new oil catch/PCV put on it and it was around $700. My husband thinks I am nuts to be fixing it. Am I just burning money?

Thank you in advance!

No, the car is only 12 years old. If you are still happy with it, why not spend $700 on it? Cheaper than a new car.

I would suggest your mechanic take a good look a the right hand strut, strut bumper and strut mount. If it drives OK, likely it is not the tire. At 12 years old, it might be time for new struts - always replace in pairs!
