2006 Suzuki XL7 - Pin question - alternator

the new alternator has three pins connectors and the old one has two the plug it plugs right in but is not charging the battery…should i change wires?

you should get the correct alternator that has the 2 pins.

Suggest to disconnect the battery and unplug that connector and not start the engine until the alternator connector problem is known for certain and resolved. Otherwise you are risking damage to the car’s entire electrical system, including the computer circuit boards. If there’s a Suzuki dealership in your area, you might ask their service department about this. I think that make of automobile is no longer sold in the USA.

Suzuki has left the USofA so the OP will need to be some where else to find a dealer . He just has the wrong part.
