During hot weather, the temp reading on the dash randomly reads -48 and the air conditioner won’t run. Sometimes, after 5-10 minutes driving time the temp counts up to the true reading and the air conditioner will start at +40 degrees. What could be causing this?
Bad temperature sensor. I had the same problem. Solution: My wife had hit something with the front bumper. The sensor is in the front bumper. Replaced the sensor and everything worked well again. Sometimes it may be just a bad connection.
