2005 Honda LX v. 1998 Saab 900 S

I have found a 2005 Honda LX with 30k miles and an 1998 Saab 900 S also with 30k miles. Both have clean records

Besides age, the biggest difference is price. The Honda is listed at steal $12,999. The Saab is listed at $7,500 but can probably be haggled down to around $6,000.

I was wondering what would be the better purchase? A newer more expensive car or an older, less expensive car. Both will easily last to 100,000 miles and beyond. Both have the same MPG. What I save on getting the older car can be put aside for any additional maintenance due to age. Basically, if it costs me more than $7,000, I might regret the purchase.

You are asking for mechanical problems wit the Saab. Unless you are a Saab fanatic, it is not worth it.
