Pieces of plastic from my broken Dipstick fell into oil reservoir on my 2004 Volvo V-70 will it damage the engine ?
This sort of question comes up occasionally and the usual answer is “No” because the pieces are presumed to be too large to get anywhere they’re likely to do any harm. My own take is that you should have the oil pan dropped and the oil changed ASAP on principle, and the dipstick replaced. Out of curiosity, how did the dipstick break?
