I can’t get my gas cap open, I live in Michigan, and we did get hit with a big snow storm today. When I first went out to my car this morning, my door was frozen shut, but I don’t think my gas frozen because it’s turning, just not coming off.
Probably the rubber is stuck. Do you have a defrost spray, or maybe just drive in a garage that has some heat. I would say hose it down with warm water but kind of worried that the water will freeze pretty quickly and add to your misery.
Try warming the gas cap with an electric hair dryer and extension cord. Be careful not to get it too hot. Just warm enough to unfreeze it.
I like the “inside a warm place” solution for these type of issues. Best solution is the one that disturbs the least.
