My daughter is in college in Vermont and lost her timing belt which caused damage to the valves. I am out of state so am dealing with the mechanic by phone. They are looking for a used cylinder head but are having a hard time finding one. Option 2 is to fix the valves, any opinion on what is the better option. What do you think it should cost to replace a cylinder head (with a used one) vs. repairing the valves. any idea on cost for valve repair ?

You need to talk to an automotive machine shop about the cost. They will charge for an inspection and a pressure check; for each valve which is bent (varies); milling the cylinder head flat, and some other things. The exact cost can’t be determined until an examination is performed by the machinist.
