I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 3.5L 6 cylinder with 155,000 miles on it. The transfer case is leaking oil. An auto repair shop told me that there are 3 seals that need to be replaced on the transfer case to try and stop the oil leak. I am wondering what the standard mechanic labor hours would be to do that job so that when I get quotes to do the job from auto repair shops I don’t get overcharged. 1 shop has quoted me $895 without a breakdown of parts and labor to do the job. If the parts cost $95 and the labor is $800 it would be 6.4 hours at $125 hour for the mechanics labor. Is 6.4 labor hours realistic to do this job? Thank you.
