2004 Honda Civic heater repair

replaced the blower motor resistor ( and cabin air filter). Also replaced mode control motor assembly. Repairs were done through glove box.

Car gets paid for, I go home only to discover someone removed the face plate covering the radio and heat dials and right bottom corner of dashboard is puckered and the heat knobs do not illuminate ( they did prior to repair). Call Dealer ( only Dealer parts per my regular mechanic ) and expect to take car back in and have something tightened up. NOTHING else had shown up when diagnostics were run for original repair.

Told by dealer, now need to replace solid state ground circuit heat and A/C control unit…special order…additional $400. My mechanic thinks this sounds just tooooooo coincidental.

Can anyone help me?
