2003 Chevrolet Cavalier - Lights out

headlights and running lights dont work 2003 chevy cavilier

First check your fuses and relays.

But I heard this is a common problem, that the wiring in the harness gets corroded causing the problem.
The harness is behind both headlights and runs on the front support bar between the two headlamp assemblies. it is a known place for wiring problems. Inside that harness, between the two assemblies, water gets into the harness and can corrode and break, or any wire in the harness. you need to remove both lamps, strip the covering from the harness starting at each lamp and trace the wires to and from both sides. You will need to pull on the wires as you go along removing more of the insulation/tape. You will most likely find a broken wire or corrosion.

Does that include the rear running lights also?? do the turn signals work front and rear?? Brake lights??

If diy’er me had that problem, I’d focus on the headlights first. And the first test I’d do is (w/dvm) whether there is 12 volts at the headlight connection or not. If not, work backwards along the circuit towards the battery to find out why not.

My guess, corroded electrical connections at the light fixture.
