2002 Dodge Caravan with issues

the main issue is that upon startup, the car has to warm up for a few minutes or else it seems like the gas is not flowing smoothly, sometimes it jerks a bit. Once it warms up it works fine. We’ve had a few issues of warning lights, particularly the engine light came on and went off after a few days. The oil light comes on and off intermittently, but only when the car is stopped. While it is moving it goes off. Sometimes it does not come on at all. The car has been checked by a mechanic. He found a corroded wire to the computer and repaired it. This did not fix the acceleration problem. He feels the computer is faulty and needs to be replaced. Initially he thought to run fuel injector cleaner through(which we did already and it did not help) and also change the fuel filter. However, when he repaired the wire to the computer he decided not to flush the fuel system

I forgot to mention that the car only has 40000 miles on it

You need to take it to the dealer. That’s because the computer in your vehicle is covered for 8 years/80,000 miles which is mandated by the EPA emission equipment warranty.

Tester

If you have seen the Check Engine light come on, there will be diagnostic trouble codes stored in the engine control module. There are many possible causes and these codes are very helpful in focussing the investigation.

True that the engine control module is under 8 year/80,000 mile warranty. However, that is not necessarily the cause of the problem. Can you please have the mechanic look at the repair order and tell you which diagnostic trouble codes were present?
