2001 Camry. Makes a whining noise intermittently only when accelerating, usually around 35 mph. Whining stops when I let my foot off the gas.
Check your power steering fluid level and serpentine OK?
Could be transmission problems starting. Check your fluid, make sure it’s not low or brown and doesn’t smell burnt.
When was the last time the timing belt/assembly was replaced?
Worn timing components can cause that sound.
