Fault Code means “Bypass Valve Fault” - Toyota Hybrid System Diagnosis manual says “With salted roads this can get stuck”. Car has been garaged in Boston for 6 months. Is there is simple way to fix this sticking valve? Dealer wants to replace half the car for $$$$.
The by-pass valve is positioned in front of tha catalytic converter. It is controlled by a vacuum motor that connects to the valves lever. If you can gain access to the valve, you can try moving the lever by hand to see if that frees up the valve.
