2001 Nissan Frontier gauges and speedometer won’t work after storm

Just after the wind and rain from hurricane Florence ended, I started up my Nissan Frontier to go to the store. After I got onto the main road, I noticed that my gas gauge was on “E”. Then I noticed that the Speed odometer, and mileage odometer and the temperature gauge did not move at all. Shortly thereafter, the “service engine soon” warning light appeared. First I thought it was just a fuse but I later found out that there are no fuses that bridge those instruments to their respective auto components. What is the best approach to fixing this problem?

Park the vehicle on high ground for couple of days and cross your fingers.

And then see if everything works.

If not. That’s called flood damage.

Tester
