My beloved 2001 Montero Sport’s transmission kicked the bucket. To replace it would be about $2800, plus another $1000 to fix an oil leak. The car has 210,000 miles on it. Fix it, or scrap it and get $800? Advice please!
You got pretty much all you’re going to get out of the car. I’d scrap it and take the $800+$1000+$2800=$4600 and use it for a down payment on your next vehicle.
