So i was jumpstarting my van but it wouldnt stay running as soon as i let off the gas it would die. Now i cant even turn the key in the ignition. I tried shaking the wheel while turning the key and it wouldnt work but when i put my car back on the cables it still would not work.
The ignition key steering lock may be mechanically jammed, it happens. If turning the wheel either way while trying to turn the key doesn’t help, try relieving pressure on the steering system by jacking the front wheels off of the ground and try again. I don’t know whether this would be a factor in your vehicle, but also try moving the shifter about - is it in Park or Neutral?
