2001 audi a4, squeaks and clangs

hello. i’ve noticed recently that my 2001 audi a4 automatic makes a lot of squeaks and clangs whenever i am changing gears–ie from park to drive, from drive to reverse, or from reverse to drive–or as i am slowly letting go of the brake. basically, it happens when i am parallel parking, going back and forth from forward to reverse, slowly letting go of the brake, etc. i don’t notice it when i’m doing normal driving. any thoughts as to the cause? thanks! --ajh
