I just took my car and the car was making this shimmy, when braking, the entire car would pulse as though it were catching then not catching. Mechanic’s took a look at it and basically said things were seizing up and that when they took it apart the spindle had a major gouge in it that would probably require the spindle to be replaced, to the tune of 900 just for the parts on the spindles(plus pads, rotors and labor coming out to another 800 in total). The car has 200k miles on, and i’ve had some other major work done in the last year, to try and get it to last another year. Is there a cheaper way to replace the spindles? And does this even sound correct?
